Name: Chateau du Trignon
Variety: 100% Roussanne
Region: Rhone
Country: France
Year: 2012
Price: $17.95
Professional Review: It's unusual to find 100% Roussanne wines, but this is a terrific example at a realistic price. It's broad and mouth-coating but still seems fresh, with melon, pear and pineapple flavors that linger on the tightly focused finish. Drink over the next year or two.
My Review: Lots of crisp, clean bouquet on the nose. Glad to say the acids we balanced making it the best time for other flavors to conquer the palate; but disappointingly so, not a lot of other flavors came through. I'd easily pass on this wine, it was bland. I had this wine at a tasting without a meal.
