Name: Santa Julia Malbec
Variety: Malbec
Region: Mendoza
Country: Argentina
Year: 2012
Price: $8.95
Professional Review: The nose is full of mellow raspberry and cherry, while the palate is fleshy and round, with blackberry and a touch of raisin. Plump, not edgy, and ready to drink, with coffee and mocha notes on the finish.
My Review: I liked this Malbec. I got cedar, cherry and light hints of oak on the nose, with cherry, plum and light hints of oak on the palate. It was lighter in body than I would really like with a lighter finish. A good Malbec under $10. I had this wine at a tasting without a meal.
