Tres Ojos Garnacha

Name: Tres Ojos Garnacha
Variety: Garnacha
Region: Calatayud
Country: Spain
Year: 2011
Price: $6.95

Professional Review: This semi-opaque ruby, custom cuvee of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre is made specifically for Fran Kysela. It exhibits very fresh, ripe dark red fruit with very good palate weight and depth and ends with rich notes. Made from organically grown grape. Incredible value!

My Review: This was good for a red wine - I have yet to find a red wine that I really like - so this is a great compliment for a red wine. It had a very oaky, fruity, berry smell. The taste was very oaky and earthy with very high tannins. The texture was kind of crisp which surprised me because I was expecting something more thick and viscous. If this wine was decantered over night, I would have a better opinion on the wine. It received 90 pts by I-WineReview (Dec. 2013). I had this wine at a tasting without a meal.
